  • Hood River County Library 502 State Street Hood River, Oregon, 97031 United States (map)

This is a paid workshop. Buy your tickets here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/kanedaconsulting/2242907

AI is reshaping the world your child is growing up in, and most parents are figuring it out as they go.

But the good news is you don't have to figure it out alone! With this workshop, you'll leave with a clear, practical foundation to make informed decisions with at home and on your own terms.

In one hour, we'll cover what AI is, how it works, good habits, red flags, and how to handle the hard conversations with your kids. You'll also take part in a hands-on activity that gives you a real sense of how AI "thinks."

No tech background required. This workshop is for all parents!

Doors open at 6:00 PM. Workshop runs 6:30–7:30 PM. Q&A to follow.

Located in the meeting room at the Hood River County Library.

$35 per person, fees included

About Leila Kaneda

Leila's approach is straightforward: understand how the technology works, then decide what to do with it. For some families that means firm limits. For others it opens up new possibilities. Either way, you leave with enough information to make that call yourself.

Leila has a master's degree in computer science with a focus on AI and machine learning, 10 years working in the field as an engineer, educator, and consultant, and 20 years of teaching experience across middle school, high school, and university settings. She taught computer science and AI courses at Portland State University and now runs Kaneda Consulting in Hood River, helping individuals and organizations figure out how to work with AI in meaningful ways that align with their values.
